Giveaway Time 25

I am pleased to announce that this blog has just received its 25,000 visit, and I've done twice twenty-five posts.  Hooray!

My online shop is called Two Bits Patches.  Two bits is a quarter, 25 cents, and I started selling fat quarters on eBay in 2007.

Two bits of a dollar - 25 cents

So it is very appropriate to have a fat quarter prize for this giveaway - three fat quarters in fact.

From left to right - Judie Rothermel's Quaker Quilts; Jo Morton's Lucinda's Needle; and Howard Marcus' Friendship: Collections for a Cause.  Just right for your next few blocks of the Chester Criswell Quilt.  If you are the winner, I will send you a fat quarter of each fabric.

To enter - post a comment on this post about what you are doing today, or what you wish you were doing today.  The winner will be chosen at random; if you link to this giveaway on your own blog you can have a second chance to win.  You may post a comment anonymously, but I can't get in touch with you if you win.  So I will choose someone else to win.

Closing date is 25 April.  In Australia that's ANZAC Day when we remember our involvement in the First World War.  In our family it's also my granddaughter's birthday.  I will spend the morning marching in two parades and then home to sew.

I'm in the back row far corner - I'm the drummer.

  1. I am in a hotel room in VT. It is raining...yucky! I wish I were sitting at my sewing machine, putting the binding on a quilt.

  11. Today I've been going to Open Houses to get peeks into what houses look like in Boston. It's another way to see the city! Once we polish up the taxes I will either pull out the sewing machine to work on a charity quilt, or it might be we go to friends and spend the evening there. Thank you for putting my name in your drawing for these nice fabrics. I came here via http://tatteredgarden.blogspot.com/

I'd always wondered where you derived the name of your shop from - it all makes sense now!
Today I have already done enough vacuuming to make me feel very virtuous and now I can stitch away until I need to go to work this arvo!
I am really enjoying making the CCCQ blocks althou I am always a month behind - a bit like a drummer in a band, I'm always bringing up the rear!

  21. Congratulations Sharon on your 25 posts and 25,000 visitors! Interesting to hear the origin of your shop's name. Today I worked and didn't do any sewing until this evening when I managed to do heaps. I started the needle-turn applique on CCCQ #9 block and pieced the first row for my Morrell quilt. I have posted about your give-away on my blog. It'd be nice to win, thanks for the opportunity.

  24. Congratulations Sharon. Yesterday when I first read your post I was playing tennis badly, doing way too much housework after the weekend (boring, thankless task)and finally after cooking dinner (I hate cooking too) and cleaning up again I managed a little sewing on my Sarah Morell quilt. Today I am at work and after dinner I plan even more hand piecing on Sarah because I am up to date with Chester. These fat quarters would fit in really well with the rest of my Chester. Thanks for the giveaway!!!

  28. Congratulations Sharon! Well done! Today (and yesterday and the day before that) I'm confined to do nothing because saturday I severely hurt my right arm (and I'm righthanded) and it still hurts like...I wanted to sandwich a quilt, do some cleaning chores in anticipation of a possible visit from fellow quilters/friends (I always need a reason to clean), see what I want/need to buy in Nantes next week...I hate this confinement. I try to do some stitching (practically finished all the blocks of CCCQ), but it doesn't go well. Well, it will be better one day I suppose.

  29. For those who care : I called the doctor, he made a housecall (they do that in Belgium), prescribed pills (serious inflammation of some joint), I took one for now and things are already lighting up. Yeah for modern medicine!
